You might be inside it if

Is the outcome described as the only possible one?
Is anyone who objects described as naive or unrealistic?
Does the narration invoke 'everyone does it' or 'industry standard'?
Was there ever a moment when a different choice was publicly discussed?
Is the horizon of the plausible treated as fixed — administrative power monopolizing alternatives and asserting them as immovable laws of physics?

Hard to see because the narration frames any objection as naive — 'that's just how the world works'.
