A shock arrives. The institution absorbs some of it and routes the rest to a person. What reaches the person is the shock minus what the institution actually absorbed. What the institution says it absorbed does not enter the sum.

The institution's account shows 70 units routed and gives each one a phrase. The body carries 165. The 95 units between the two figures are the narration, a story told about the routing in place of the routing itself.
